Can the same advisor write a reference letter for the grant?

Yes! It's actually a requirement that your mentor writes one of the letters of recommendation. Your mentor should include a sentence about their commitment to being your mentor through out the course of the grant.

Does the mentor need to be a faculty member or can they be a visiting instructor?

Is it permissible for two graduate students to submit a grant proposal together or is it restricted to one graduate student per proposal?

Can you discuss common application pitfalls? Also, can you mention how many applications are typically received each year?

Regarding proof of IRB approval- is it okay to include a screen shot of approval on our IRB portal? Or is there anything further we need to submit?
